Jeremey,

Check my post under "Caravan - From Virginia".   I'm neeting the NY folks (SARGE81 and DWright, so far) in northern WV. We're heading south on I-79 to I-77 to I-81.   We are planning to meet up with the VA folks near the I-77 / I-81 interchange on June 22nd. Any chance we can hook up with you there as well?

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.

we would love to meet up with you all but as previously noted we are stopping in staunton, va on the 21st and then continuing on the 22 nd pf.  if there is a time we could meet up and all continue together that would be cool.  contact me or davem when it gets closer and we will try to set it up or find a nearby meeting spot to link up.

Jeremy,

We plan to meet the VA folks around Wytheville, VA. That's where I-77 South and I-81 West meet. There's a Hampton Inn just north off the interchange where we could hook up. Here's its info:

Hampton Inn - Wytheville
1090 Peppers Ferry Road
Wytheville, VA 24382

We (SARGE81, DWright and I) should be there around 12:30ish on June 22nd. Looks like JimG and 2CRUZIN will be able to meet us there about that time. Looks like about a 2 1/2 (150 miles) drive for you - gets you there a bit ahead us. How's that work for you? Maybe we could start a bit earlier to synch up easier.

Since we will be going down the entire week (Monday thur Sunday)
it is impossible to Caravan DOWN  ....  BUT heck sure would be nice to
Caravan Back up North....

Plan on driving 200- 250 or so miles NORTH towards Frederick Maryland
on 81 ...
and staying in a Comfort Inn..(preferably one with a pool and Hot Tub)

Whats everyones plan returning home from Pigeon Forge?

Reason for Comfort Inn is that I have enough points to stay for free
lol

That sounds fine with me, we can leave Staunton around 9:30 and be at Wytheville around 12-12:30.

Jeremy: How does that sound with you?

hhmmmmm.  ok lets see.

Bob-  as far as the comfort inn.  we have already set up the staunton, va hotel as the midway point going to and from pigeon forge. if you can find a comfort inn near there, great. if not. i dunno perhaps we can stop somewhere to eat and continue on and you break off from us to go to your hotel.

Dave, you and I will ahev to go over everything but the times and meeting spots sound good. mind you i won't be able to go fast or anything since i will be towing my c3 with my truck.

keep the updates going everyone.  we haev no problem meeting up with others on the way down or back up.

I'll pull out the Map software and see about where Staunton Va is located...

It would be nice if it were close to where you are staying...BUT having
dinner and or a drink or 2 on Sunday evening on the way home WITH
FRIENDS ..is what I had in mind...

I am not towing ..I'm driving my C5 .. wife put her foot down HARD
in 99 after we "suffered" doing the 99 National Caravan in my 72...
By suffering I mean..both our backs hurt, "my" tush hurt, it was unbelievably hot..and my wife was forced to do the entire trip with 2 pair of shoes because of luggage space..(Tops never stay up) ..she insisted
on me buying a newer Corvette  so we could travel in comfort...

I DID NOT  BITCH  at all... LOL

My wife and I had planned to take the 77 on our vacation to Nova Scotia last year but couldn't fit the luggage so we took her 05 Volvo 80.  She said we need a newer vette with more room and comfort for trips and keep the 77 for local drives.  (I think she really enjoys the attention we get when driving it around.)  I wish she were coming down with me so Bob's wife could help convince her we need it sooner than later but she is busy with her work and church so my son is coming down with me.  Hope to meet you guys the nite of the 22nd. I will comunicate with you more later.  I'm still trying to get all the pieces togeather.  It will be about an 8 or 9 hour drive the first day for me so a nice meal and drinks sound great that nite.  Don't worry--my son is 23 so he will be joining us.

Bob,

We can probably figure out a return trip "caravan". Let's talk about it in PF. Sounds good to us.
