Hey, my car's a chrome bumper too! I could probably use anything that flies off of yours!

Then again, I'll promise not to sell/trade/keep anything that comes off of your car, if you'll do the same for my car!!

And I like the color. It stands out from the crowd, unlike a "common" color such as red!

Don't worry, I've mellowed out as I've gotten older. I really try much harder to stick within 15-20 mph of the posted limits!

I'm looking forward to the trip!

HEEEE......HAAAAWWW!!! There's 2 chromies!!
Thanks for the compliment on the Gold Thing's color. I didn't like it at first, but it's grows on ya'! I like the blue vettes!

Ya know almost EVERYONE has a RED VETTE!!! (like Joel)

Na, I wouldn't sell, trade or keep any of your vette parts either!

Ok, since your not a speed demon anymore, we will be in the front (cuz our car's aren't red) Joel can run in the rear!

One more little adjustment and I'm ready and looking forward to goin' too!!

That's just 'cause ya'll want somebody to stop & pick yuh up when yuh breaks down. B'sides, them ol' thangs gonna need a head start anyways.

On second thought, Joel should lead.  That way, as the cops have him pulled over, we can practice the "save the wave" as we pass by!!

Yeah, yeah!!    I took plenty of land-nav courses while in the USMC, so I'm sure I could get there!!!

On a side note: I'm looking at getting my engine and transmission rebuilt.  A highly recommended local corvette shop quoted me about $4500 for both.  Is that the going rate these days?  Back in 1993, when I still had my 81, I had both done on it for just over $2000.  I knew it woud probably be more expensive now, but $4500 seemed a bit high.  Of course I would rather have it done by someone who knows what they're doing, so it might be worth it to pay to have it done right the first time around.

Any thoughts?

Trans O/H for around $250 + parts. Engine work can be expensive, depending on who does what to it.
