Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Took care of a number of necessities this morning already
  • Tires Balanced and Rotated
  • Spare Checked
  • Oil Changed
  • New Battery
I'll put up a separate post about the battery - you won't believe it. Been looking at the weather for our extended trip and it looks like bright sunny skies as far out as I can see! We can hardly wait to get on the road and see everyone!!

|UPDATED|6/15/2013 7:42:39 AM (AZT)|/UPDATED|

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
Running out of time to do things myself so a week ago took "The Beast" in to have fluids changed (brakes, tranny, diff, P/S, and cooling), A/C checked, and a couple of idiot lights checked out.  After that had to pull the front shocks off and send them out to get rebuilt so that should take care of the SRC light.  Now need to chase down the bad impact sensor in the front left corner to get rid of the SRS light.

Are we there yet...???

Sounds like you are almost ready for the trip.  Hope all goes well on the trip and time with fellow C3 folks.  Will you be heading West with any other C3 folks (cars)?

Take care and keep us posted on your trip.
Gary

Well, I was almost ready yesterday, but NOW I'm ready. Washed the car today. Everyone knows the most important step in preparing for a road trip is getting the car clean! No, Gary, we're not caravaning with anyone, we'll be taking an out of the way route, but I'll. detail that out later

Vette(s): Gone, but not forgotten: 1974 Coupe Red, matching numbers, Black Interior, L-48 w/ 4 speed; The “Admiral”, also gone and never to be forgotten. 1994 Admiral Blue LT-1 coupe, Black Interior Automatic
I am hoping that my recovery from my latest round of clotting issues and the subsequent surgery is far enough along so I can make the trip.

There is no substitute for low end torque!

Man, I can't believe the wife and I aren't going. The destination, while in the western region, is a 1000 mi. out of my budget. We'll just have to be satisfied to feed off of the sights and memories you folks share with us.  Enjoy.

Thank you Adam. It's a great feeling to think we'd be missed.
