I'm glad that we're going to Colorado Springs. If it was anything farther west we would most likely not be going.
Colorado Springs is just beautiful, we were there back in '82 and loved it. I hope a member from the area steps up to help with the plans. Really looking forward to this one

Pike's Peak! Garden of the Gods! Lots of scenic drives! Plenty of museums and local flavor!
Lovin' this destination!!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

I would recommend coming out in July, it gets warm (90 - 95 degrees) but we can stay up in the mountains and keep cool (mid 80's). There are lots of drives, through Cripple Creek, to Leadville down to Canon City, up to Fairplay. Good drives all. Also go through the Garden of the Gods, to the US Air Force Academy and down to the Corvette Center South of the Springs.
I would also suggest staying in Woodland Park, it is 25 miles west of Colorado Springs and is at 8500 feet and has nice cool evenings.
If it is alright with everyone, my wife (Terry) and myself (Bob) will try to take point on this one since we are here in Woodland Park and can track the events down.

Bob, that would be greatly appreciated! Always best to have someone local setting things up. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. I had reached out to the CVB there and it sounds like we're not the first "car club" to choose that locale for a gathering.
I think we made the right choice!

8500 feet, wow, I hope our cars will run OK up that high.

Back when all cars were carburated, I lived in Salt lake City, and it was common for the 'flat-landers' (like I was) to have to change out the carburator jets to pull in more air. But for a visit you would probably be ok.
Perhaps Dr. Adams can add to this, but I do think that ethanol has a lower boiling point and with the heat that a C3 creates in the engine compartment, there may be a slight possibility of a vapor lock. That happened to me when I used to pull a travel trailer with a '69 Buick LeSabre and then later with the only Ford I ever owned...a 1 ton conversion van with a 460, Edelbrock performer intake and dual exhausts. I had to have an electric fuel pump installed, with the line running straight to the carb, bypassing the mechanical fuel pump attached to the block.
Dr. Joel...am I full of buffalo beans on this?
I wished I could come because it truly is a beautiful area of the country.
Warning: The surgeon general has declared that it is NOT unhealthy to smoke your competition AND I just discovered that my corvette is a hybred. It burns gas and rubber!
