One things for sure. There is no way to please everybody, but, friendly discussion is a good thing. I think that our northwest members are mounting a strong campaign and should have serious consideration. I personally would like to go to a gathering and see all of you. How about Cancun. They have great weather, white sand beaches and corktails and......................
Maybe we can get an All Inclusive Group Rate....... count me in!

For now I would love to plan to get together with the boyz in the WA /OR area.... If I can help with their campain plannig to develop a strong suggetion then I am at their service. Heck maybe Ebo can help. That way you could have to stray curr dawgs helping them......    Tuxblacray2009-06-27 13:14:07

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

I’m in San Diego and really there is a lot to do in this town.  Traffic is not a issue if you do not plan on moving around before 9AM (I'm on vacation I don't get up then) and stay clear of the 3-5PM crowd.

That said we are basically a flat land.  If you come to SoCal I would recomend staying in the mountains i.e. Julian is a nice run (about 3-4 hours total) in the mountains.  This is the link to that area.  http://www.blendradioandtv.com/Julian_CA/index.htm   Other than the mountain I do not know of a great place with nice curve roadways to drive a Vette.  Being a dry area it would be the best place to come if the event were to be in the spring or fall.  But summer hot 105+ degree weather.

I got one lung that works so if you get over 6000 feet I'm limited in activities.  That said I have done Yellow Stone and the Grand Cayon I just move slower. Of course I move slower because I'm also getting older.

That all said.  North West Coastal area is a good choice also.

Geez Louise, let me enjoy Gathering 2009 before you get all the 2010 plans done.

I have been to Colorado, Utah, CA, and most of all the other states. I have not been to Oregon or Washington, so they would get my vote.

But I ain't gonna think about it until after July 19, 2009.
...  Over the coming weekend I will start another thread that will be the first in the process of determining the gathering's location.  In that thread post the city/area in the West Region you think would be a good place to have the gathering, list points of interest for things to do (a go-kart track is MANDATORY!!! Wink ), and do a little research to see if there will be any other activities competing for lodging in the July/August timeframe so dates of conflict can be avoided if possible.    That thread will be for listing locations only - NO DISCUSSION OF SUGGESTIONS.  This thread will be discussion place and discussion posts will be relocated here should they happen to pop in the list. ...
Just a reminder that if you suggested a location for the 2010 gathering above please look this thread (click here) to get your suggested location included in the voting poll.

Not sure if I'll be able to make it, but if I do, I like the idea of the Great NorthWest, so I'm lettin that  idea ride

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
Ouch I like the idea of the stir sticks -n- oars. You only get one stir stick in a cup, but you can get ALOT of oars in one boat.   2 cents    Mark
