Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
I agree with the Lake placid concept they have all been talking about. However if you stick with newport, RI then so be it, i am there.
Any idea what makes you want to have the gathering there?
Jeremy H.

I've been there an it is gorgeous. Also, might have a chance at getting the wife and kid to come if we go there.

Adam, the roads are awesom and actually not busy once you get beyond Old Forge (snomobilers meca in winter)
Keyster that train ride (Adirondak Railway) is in Old Forge.
Tux your stayin at my place!
Adam, I can do all the leg work on this end for ya ( I was born to organize parties).
The Utica exit is in my back yard, I can host a BBQ at my place nite before we head North.
There is a big mall right at the Utica exit for a starting point.
We could send an activity flyer out to see what the majority wants to stop and see. There is so much you could easily spend a week on this trip. Vermont has Ben and Jerrys home also
.

In Placid you can skate where the US hockey team took home the Gold.
The Ski jumps are open to tour, you can go right out to the take off ramp. Bob sled and luge tracks at same complex. Vette's can also climb to the top of WhiteFace Mtn. Tons of shops for the Gals.
Were ever it ends up we are diffinitly there.

I have been to Newport, RI and will definitely go again, but not in my Vette.
This year we are supposed to be in the East Region, not necessarily New England, so can we keep it open to other areas?
Catskills? Smokey Mts? SC? GA?
Other places?

"East" is fairly vague.
It even includes Kentucky, which we've done a couple times.
So I wanted to get further north in the East region this time.

Although I do agree about keeping it open to other suggestions, but don't you think we've done enough gatherings in the South? It's about time for them darn Yankee's to have a shot at not having to drive a million miles to a gathering, sorry just my .02 worth

Oh ya not to mention, it would be the first gathering on and ocean

Darn Yankees.....
10 hours to Hot Springs wasn't exactly out my backdoor. I like the option to have a choice. But then again in the end I do.... to go or not to go.....
When it is all said and done wherever the destination is that is picked those that attend will have memories for years and will definitely appreciate having gone!

Adam:
Lake Placid sounds like a great area with lots to do and great roads. As others have stated however, Pat and I will be there regardless of where the group decides to go to be with the great people in this organization.
