2008 C3VR Gathering Location Possibilities

Rich,  I know what you mean about the northern Ark. roads. My wife and I used to drive an 18 wheeler frequently fron Alexandria, La to Kansas City up Hwy 71. When the sign said 15 MPH curve, you better not be going 20! Luckily, we found a way around the worst part. I have a sneeking suspicion we'll end up in that part of the country. I'd love to drive that road in my Vette, but I'd sure pass on it in a big rig again. 

Cattlemen's is the best steak place we have in OK City.  Ya can't beat the lamb fries and the ribeye I'll put up against Ruths Chris or Omaha Steaks any day of the week.

They also have a beer brewed specially for them.  Double Deuce, in the style of the old German Bock Beers you would find in the southeastern part of the state, say at PETE'S PLACE!!!!  Great food and beer, well worth the drive from the City.

While we do have the most miles of Route 66, and every year we have a run that starts at both ends of the state and ends in the middle, the road is STRAIGHT, STRAIGHT I tell you!!!  Narry a tight curve, switchback or hairpin.  Great if you own a Viper, sux if you own a Vette.

The Arkie's have the best roads around these parts for these cars.

This Okie Dude ain't puttin on airs about Cattlemans!! If he'z a lyin I'm a dyin! Been there done that, it is EXCELLANT !!! An if your goin to OKC you hafta go to Bricktown. There is so much to do that a week won't get ya through it. From one huge Bass Pro Shop to a ride down the canal to Tapwerkz with 3 floors of more beers on tap than I have ever seen in my life.
Beer not your thing then try ta figure out where yer gonna eat? Make sure ya sit down and study awhile cause it ain't gonna be quik. Maybe ya kin do this as ya take the trolley across town..... Tuxblacray2007-07-22 20:07:06

Amen to Cattleman's.  We go there as often as we can.  Bricktown continues to add more attractions it seems every month.  Went to Toby Kieths place a couple of weeks ago and to an Arena Football game this weekend only because AAA baseball was out of town this week.  All of this as well as the canal and Bass Pro are in walking distance.

Not to put down the OKC steak (which I am sure is GREAT!), but KC ain't no slouch when it comes to red meat or BarBQ.   There's some mighty fine eatin' establishments there, as you jump off to Branson and parts south.  Beleieve it or not, that includes fresh daily SEAFOOD, too. Something for everyone.

Branson does sound like it's the cream floating to the top...

I haven't been to a C3VR gathering yet, but the midwest location would sure be tempting. Branson may sound interesting, but in my opinion its way too small and way too crowded.

If I can add my two cents worth.....Indianapolis or Kansas City. If it were really up to me, St. Paul, Minnesota.
