Last time I looked Tennessee was still in the East Region. Hold that thought for 2009.

I think this thread is for suggestions for locations for our next Gathering...please stay on topic.
The agreed upon region(Mid-West), and the states in that region have been posted above. These would be the Blue States.
So far, the suggestions are:
Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
St. Louis, MO
Branson, MO
Hannibal, MO
Kansas City, KS
Oklahoma City, OK
Eureka Springs, ARK
Hot Springs, ARK
Little Rock, ARK
Rogers, ARK
Ft.Smith, ARK
Conway, ARK
Chippewa Falls, WIS
Bad Lands, Mt. Rushmore, Sturgis, N/S Dakota
It appears that most of the suggestions to date have been for the Branson, MO area.
Feel free to add more places in the region, and any reasons why. I think we still have a little time to decide where, then when.
Are we there yet?

Being from Kansas, I am partial to Kansas City. Just a reminder, there is the Kansas Speedway, KCIR dragstrip, Worlds of Fun, Oceans of Fun, and lots of other things in KC. Within an hour of KC there is Heartland park in Topeka that has a road race course. Just my .02 on the subject.

I should suggest Bismarck, just to get a few laughs out of everyone!

South Dakota does have some great places to visit, so that would be on my list.
I would have to say though that I would like to visit the city where my car was born, so St. Louis gets my vote.

Ok the blue states
I say lets measure the map and find the center of the United States
Does anyone have a tape measure, ruler, compass perhaps
The geographic center of the contiguous (lower) 48 states is about four miles west of Lebanon, Kansas, at 98°35' West 39°50' North.

That would be 1287 miles from my house. Piece of cake. And I could use the same map as this year. Except I will only need half of it.

I've heard a lot of good things about Branson MO. .... BTW, dose anyone know how much is left of the factory in St Louis and is it worth seeing ? It would be fun to see the ol'girl's birth place.
