I have had this car for about 7 years and caught the vette bug. The car had 89,000++ miles when I blew a headgasket one and a half years into ownership. From that point on, I decided to use it only as a fair weather car.

I had Chuck at C.O.W. rebuild top end with a mild street cam and tune. High volume oil pump with extended oil pick-up keeps things moving. Air pump, alternator, serpintine belt, harmonic balancer has been added and brought me to 117,000 smooth running, uneventful, miles.
Paint was done on the cheap due to a connection with the local auto body shop, orginal dark red metallic. Looks awesome.
More pics of my car and Jr.'s 06 C6 3LT to come. Looking forward to hooking up with fellow C4 fans at the local shows, and at Carlisle PA.
PS....I bumped into one of the fellows from this forum at the "Bear Mountain Inn" car show in NY. Do not remember his name. He intvited me over for sandwitches at Carlisle, but due to Hurricane Irene, our trip was cut short and were chased home by the storm.
Things I'd LIKE to due.....better torque converter[Chuck says will make a big difference], get the A/C updated to icey cold, and maybe some new weather stripping.

Took you 8 years of ownership to catch the "Bug"?

Sorry...I know that ain't what ya meant, but I read it like that!

Vette(s): 87 Red Coupe, not as pretty, had 213G miles, great running engine; got 20-21 around town, 27-28 on hwy; I got to drive a Vette, every day for 6 yrs. It was my first; so now I know what the fuss is all about. (Sold it 2015 for $3000, still ran great.)
Our first Vette, no matter when, is a big deal. Yours looks great, always will be a great car. Enjoy.
