Vette(s): 1993 plo metallic green convertible with biege interior
so this is actually my dad's vette. but seeing how im the only son in the family and the gearhead, its kind of like a father son venture. He' picked it up last friday, and we found it a week before that.
its pretty clean, actually really clean, the only thing that shows the age is the seats, but thats just like all leather. and it only has 39K!! its a 1993 lt1 convertible with polo metallic green paint and biege interior and top.

Now seeing how this is HIS vette, i technically wont get to play and change the engine or anything til he passes it on to me. but thats fine cause like i said before its amazingly clean and just darn near brand new.  I'm just wanting to find as much info on the car as possible, what kind of problems if any did they have, what are easy/cheap upgrades, where to find parts, etc..

Coongrats to you and your Dad, sounds like a great pickup. I'll mention some things you and Dad probably already know. Take a look at any service records, repair receipts, etc. to give you a history of the mechanicals.  If you have no records, based on age, I'd suggest a cooling fluid change (make sure you drain block thru knock sensors), fuel filter change, check air filter and look for debris between radiator and condensor and clean out.  Then a brake fluid change, after 17 years it's pretty funky.  Trans and rear fluid should be OK for now based on mileage (about 2K a year avg).   Take care of basics first.  Enjoy the ride, ask questions, you're in the family now, we'll help you out Smile

Good advice above ..Thumbs Up   C4s are prone to pick up debri from the road (the air intake is low/close to the ground above the spoiler)----these cars by design run hotter then most are used to seeing so it's very important to keep the cooling system clean inside AND outside. As far as info/options on your Dads "new toy" ---that can be found (or should be) on the bottom side of the console lid----if you have questions just ask, someone here will be able to help.

The National Corvette Museum (NCM) is a good source for the cars build sheet, original window sticker and the black book to help"decode" the build sheet. If you or your Dad will be doing any wrenching yourselves---then ebay is a good source for "factory service manuals" (FSM)---as far as complete repair info--- the original factory manuals ( 2 manual set) are your best bet IMO.
