Purchased this car in 2008 as a warehouse find, owner lost his lease. Wife told me to buy it no matter what as I would never get another chance to get a Vette for 1800 bucks! Was a Z51 package (great for track days), L-98, with 4+3 trans - perfect for having fun on winding roads. Car was in very rough condition inside and out.

As purchased this is what it looked like - hard to see all the body cracks and gouges, but it looked great to me!
After working over a number of issues, including a rebuilt transmission, new clutch, new master and slave cylinders, harmonic balancer, water pump, etc. I enjoyed a few fun years of driving it as a weekend warrior at autocross courses. This year, 2012, it was back in the shop for all new competition brakes, shocks, installation of roll cage, race seat, paint, and decals.
So, here is how it looks in satin black, with the decals for SCCA road racing, and ready for the track or a hillclimb. The car was finished the weekend just before a Hillclimb event in NC mountains, "Chasing the Dragon III", being conducted by the Sports Car Club of America (www.scca.com and www.dragonhillclimb.com) Central Carolina Region. It won its class in its first outing and placed midpack overall against many special, purpose built hillclimb cars and spec road race cars. Very good considering the rain, fog, and other conditions of the weekend in September. Since that time it has also competed at Roebling Road Raceway with the Buccaneer region of the SCCA.

Here it is, attacking the mountain in Joyce Kilmer National Forest, at the Chasing the Dragon Hillclimb. A great event and classic sports car competition.
I have another C4 (and a C3) which I enjoy, but this is a story of a very ugly duckling that became a fire breathing competitor! I have had many compliments from other entrants and spectators on the car's appearance, sound, and overall performance - great fun to drive!

I love to see someone using a "collector car" for the types of activity they were made for!
