I have to say.. I never thought I would drive 700+ one way... I always said put me in a plane... "what fool would drive that far" when a plane is cheaper.. especially with a big block.. you gotta love it... we will see..

I went to C3X last year. 730 miles one way.
But if you caravan with a couple other Vettes, it's fun

Not showing "Again"...too much work to show and PARTY
so showing lost out..."Again"..
Not driving down the boardwalk "Again"...Been there done
that...Watching is more fun...
But I'll be there ...Comfort Inn on the Boardwalk & 5th, oceanfront balcony "again"... The wife has a craft show
(the source of my money) and cannot come so I'm batching it with a couple gallons of Bloddy Mary Mix & Absolute..
What car I drive depends of the Weather Report ...

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.

Veiw #61
I would love to go same as the previous veiwers would, but this years budget only allows me the Columbus, OH trip (which we just did) and lastly the C3X coming up. Next year if you are doing the Maryland Corvette Weekend I would be interested in driving up. I hear it pretty nice up there. We just had to many expenses with the house this year.

I would go but ol' blue is still in 100 pieces. The goal was to ride down the boardwalk. As we all know, restoration work is as predictable as a hurricane ( sorry). I am at least two months behind my anticipated completion because of vendor mistakes, ( 3 clutches to get the right one), defective parts, parts that fit a corvette but not mine, parts that can't possibly fit, parts that look like crap, on and on and on. Maybe next year.

Sounds like a typical restoration SNAFU.
I started my interior last December and thought it would only take til Spring LOL!
Parts that don't fit. Wrong parts. 10-12weeks for replating. Oh by the way while I am at it etc....
Just remember we choose to do this!
I am getting close and if my mold for the repair of my cowl vent door mount works I may be there. It will be the first road trip in the roadster with my wife. Can't wait!

Yes I did choose to do this.....maybe not this far, but the restoration vortex is a very powerful thing...It'll be right and reliable when done though.

An announcement at my 'vette club (Corvette Annapolis) from Freestate also said Oct 14/15 for Corvettes at Ocean City. Already have reservations for C3X, so ... OC is out this year. Plus, as someone else said, it could be cool at that time of year by the ocean.
