Hemmings Motor News Cruise-in - Thursday, August 14th...

Sorry for the short notice but just back from our summer travels.  Looking at running down to Bennington, VT to attend Hemmings Motor News Cruise-in on Thursday, August 14th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Because of the distance from my house (about 3 hours) have reserved a room overnight in Bennington at the Best Western - Bennington (click here for website).  Just don't want to risk a "Close Encounter of the Bump Kind" with any of the critters that roam the Vermont highways after dark.

There are a bunch of lodging options in the Bennington area and I would recommend reaching out as soon as possible to reserve a room if needed (click to see a map of lodging options).

If there's some interest in doing a little exploring around the area on Friday morning that would be fun to do before heading for home.

Had a few interested folks to my "Testing the Waters..." post back in January about taking in one of these cruise-in nights but so far no replies to this post.  So bumping it to the top as the August cruise-in night is just three/two weeks away.

I've never been to one of these so have no idea what to expect.   Hope some C3VR folks can join in. 

We can't make it this time.  We will be touring NCM and the plant that day.  Hope you have lots of fun.

Heading for Bennington Thursday morning and returning home on Friday.  Staying at the Best Western on Northside Dr.  Hope to see some C3VR folks!

T'was warm-n-humid in Bennington tonight.  Didn't stay as long as first planned but did walk the whole show area.  There was more of a turnout than there was room for all to get "inside the ropes".  LOTS of variety and some real beauties.  Will put up a few pics after getting home.

This '62 Dodge Polaris 500 was a very nice resto...

Overall a nice mix of makes, models and years.  Was surprised by the number of ambulances and hearses that were there as collector cars.  Had not seen that many before.  Not many Corvettes - a couple of C1s, a couple of C2s, 4 C5s (including "BLUBYU"), a single C7 and a single C8.  Plates mostly from Vermont and New York with a few other states as well.
