Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Got an e-mail from the good folks at Carlisle today detailing a new event coming up this weekend.  I won't be able to make it, but I wanted to share the news for anyone in the area
 

Join Us This Sunday for the First Annual Fall Carlisle Cruise-In
Sunday, October 5, 2008



We would like to invite all "Sunday Drivers" out there to enjoy your last opportunity of the season to join a gathering of cars and friends at the Fairgrounds. Meander your way through the 100's of vendors and cars in the car corral to look for the last minute deals for those winter projects you have planned. All while you compete for 28 awards given to cars, trucks and motorcycles from all makes and categories.
 
Cruise-In awards will be given to the Top 10 overall as well as Best: Chrysler, GM, Ford, Truck, Bike, Import, Orphan, Rat Rod, Street Rod and Carlisle Staff Picks! All winners will receive awards and Meguiar's gift packs, but make sure to get to the Cruise-In early because the first 50 registered get goody bags and the first 25 receive a metal souvenir plaque.
 
Registration is only $5 for a car/driver or $10 for a carload (2 or more guests). Gates open at 7:00 AM, Judging begins at 11:00 AM, Awards will be announced at the stage at 1:00 PM. For more details visit the Fall Carlisle homepage.
 
In addition to the great deals and Cruise-In fun, Carlisle Events wanted to get a jump on the holiday season by helping local families in need. Carlisle Events is teaming up with Toys for Tots during the first annual Fall Cruise-In to collect new unwrapped toys to go to families in need during the holiday season.  Two Toys for Tots drop locations will be set-up during the cruise-in on Sunday, October 5th from 9am-1pm, outside of the Carlisle Store and at the Carlisle Stage. Donators will receive a $5 coupon to be used in the Carlisle Store on select items.
