Hey Dave, have you seen the Vinehurst Inn, there's no pictures on the website? It sounds nice but who knows.

Hey DaveM - There are some pics of the Vinehurst accomodations here. These are just some shots of the rooms; I don't see any pix of the grounds or the Inn itself. Biff 2008-05-31 02:19:30

Thanks Biff, I vote for the Vinehurst Inn. It's not your generic motel room.

I have not seen the grounds or parking area, but Hammondsport is a quaint little town at the south end of Keuka Lake.
If anyone in the area is familiar with Vinehurst or could stop by and check it out, that would be great.

Dave, put me and the Mrs as a tenative. We do wedding photography but I think that weekend may be open. We usually get down to wine country once a year at that time. Very nice time of year. Plus I'm so looking forward to meeting some of the group .

OK gang, last Friday (6/20/08) I drove to Hammondsport to check out the Vinehurst and I was not impressed. It is a motel that had been added onto over the years. It is not in the Village of Hammondsport. It is out by itself. If I was passing through and needed a place for one night it would be fine. But for a two night stay in the Finger Lakes, I think we can do better.
I went over to Walking Glen and there are more choices with more things to do.
SOOOOO, we are making a slight change in the plans.
I found a motel on the east side of Seneca Lake, 3 miles north of Watkins Glen. They have lakeview and woodsview rooms. Queen beds and doubles with single bed.
Prices range from $79 to $109. We will get a 10% discount. All are non-smoking.
I have reserved a block of 10 rooms for us, but you need to make your reservation ASAP.
The motel is Chalet Leon.
Website is www.chaletleonmotel.com Check it out.
Phone number is 607-546-7171.
Ask for Liz and tell her that you are with the Dave Wright Corvette Party.
Let me know when you have made your reservation.

Hey Dave, did you see any of the rooms. The pictures look like the rooms are really old? The furniture looks like it's from the '50s. With the wife along you can't be too careful.
