There will be a Route 66 caravan in 2009 from Santa Monica Pier, CA to Chicago – Route 66 in 66 days (roundtrip).

There was one in 2003.  Besides touring, they did some work projects along the way to help preserve our Route 66 heritage.

They are still putting together the details but are looking at late April to July. Caravan ends in Bowling Green the end of August, 2009.

If you are interested, contact Jim Conkle for more information. jconkle@route66pulse.com

2008 Route 66 caravan

I just learned that there will be a Route 66 caravan from Santa Monica Pier, CA to Chicago – Route 66 in 66 days (roundtrip).

There was one in 2003.  Besides touring, they did some work projects along the way to help preserve our Route 66 heritage.

They are still putting together the details but are looking at late April to July.

I know most of us can’t take that much time off, but maybe a day or two when the caravan comes close to your area or meet them at a stop.

As I find out more I’ll email the group.

In the meantime, the folks putting this on are looking for sponsors and partners to help out.

Contact Jim Conkle for more information. jconkle@route66pulse.com

Probably not, but there may be some C3VR members on the west coast that would be interested.
I will probably join one of the north east caravans, depending on the schedule.
Corvettes at Carlisle will be the week before and I don't want to miss that.

Dave - I think you're getting the 2008 Route 66 and 2009 NCC caravan info intertwined.

The info I received in the Ambassador Mailbox has the 2008 Route 66 caravan beginning and ending in California.

The 2009 NCC caravan is scheduled for late August ending in BG for the NCM's 15th anniversary bash.
