Well, I've retired as of last Friday. Step-son and I worked on the '69 this weekend - then it got too hot!Put on the right hand mirror, and replaced the left-hand window crank (such mundane projects) but then she wouldn't stay running.
From what I read, sounds like a plugged fuel filter, maybe caused by old gas, or a plugged carb jet. Probably have to end up pulling and cleaning the gas tank. At least I might find the tank sticker.
But what to do with 15 gallons of crappy old gasoline??
Any suggestions appreciated.

I'd strain it and use it in the lawn mower. Dump some dry-gas in it (isopropal, not methenol) and run it!

Congrats on the retirement!
Now you don't have any excuses for not working on the Vette. And don't tell me it's too hot. I'll take that over snow anytime.
As for the old gas, have you thought about a nice bonfire in the back yard?
Got any two cycle engines to run it in?
At $4 a gallon I sure wouldn't want to dump it down the drain.

I'd have to go with the lawn mower thing too, but not all at once...mix it in with some fresh fuel too, or you'll wind up with a mower that won't start.
Dwain(longhorn294) will prolly have a fit, since he's a small engine repair guy...he hates it when people do stuff like that, then wonder why their stuff won't run!

Well here's hoping, like some of the rest of us, you don't have 20 yrs. worth of back up projects around the property 
. After a few years here I'm still trying to adjust. Too much to do and not enough financing. I wish you a healthy and happy retirement buddy.

Light and hold a match over the open gas filler...that will burn off all the old gas.
Sorry...couldn't resist! Congrats on retirement. I'm retired and have more to do than ever...it's the unplanned projects that are the killers. Right now...have to re-grout one bathroom and was NOT expecting to have to do that.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
After reading about all of the retirement stories and having people tell me they work harder after retirement I retire on the 1 of May and went back to work on the 3 of May. My wife hires her unemployed brother to do her honey do list. Life is great, retirement is wonderful.
As for the gas. Dig a hole in the back yard and dump it. I sure hope the bunny huggers don't read this or I will get hate mail.
