Does someone know where the frame ID number is located on the frame of a 1972 vette ?
This is for a poor guy in Italy who is facing the Italian adminsitration crazyness that won't let him drive until they actually saw the ID number of the frame and registered it.

I've been told that the VIN is stamped on the left (drivers) side rail slightly forward of the #4 body mount bracket. It is also found on the left side rear kickup above the wheel areaslightly forward of the # 3 body mount bracket.

On top of the frame, just behind the driver's side wheel(around the body mount area). They can be a little hard to see, but if the area is clean, you can use a mirror/flashlight to see it. 
There might be a fuel vapor return line there, that may need to be moved.
