Vette(s): (1) 1971 Roadster, (1) 1971 Coupe (2) 1977 Coupes, (1) 1972 Coupe, (1) 1998 Coupe, (1) 1997 Coupe
Need some guidance on the best restoration book. Since they are somewhat expensive, I prefer to buy the most accurate one instead of buying several books.  Thanks!

Art's right, I have Porter's book, but I also have a few others, the Fact Book by M.F. Dobbins is also a good source for accuracy. I like a variety mostly because one will focus on a particular area and be a little vague in others. I haven't seen one yet that covers the whole car in detail. As far as the cost, a good library is worth it's weight. If you make a wrong purchase on an expensive used part, it could cost much more than a good set of manuals.

I have another that's come in handy, it's a reference of corvette only casting numbers, just pick them up one at atime as you find them. Border's Barnes and Noble both have some from time to time, you can at least browse the book to see if it's what you need.

Good point about the differences.
