Been thinking about putting on a set of 15x8 Crager SS chrome wheels mounted on 255-60-15 BF Goodrich tires on my 80 vette. Does anyone know the offset of the stock slotted wheels? Don't know if the Cragers will clear the calipers. Hate to spend the money if they won't fit.

I currently have a Set of Creager SS "Corvette Special" Wire wheels on my 79....

Honest I ordered them in the early 80's and they were made especially for the Corvette...hence the wording "Corvette Special"...actually the spinners had the word Corvette with the crossed flags in the center...
tells you how old they really are since nobody can use the word Corvette anymore without DM sueing their tails off...

THEY NEED SPACERS.... for clearance...

Just remembered my 76 is up on the lift with all the wheels off (putting on new calibers) ,...

So I walked out and measured the offset on its  OEM Slotted wheels...

FOUR inches...   maybe 4 1/8 ...

Hope that helpls a little

it might help to tell ya that my aftermarket boyds are 17X8 with no offset meaning the mounting flange is in the direct center of the wheel. That equals 4" inset.

Just put a set of Cragers on my 80.Offset .50" Backspace 4" bolt pattern 5 by 4 3/4.Am runnin the same tires as you and you will need a 1/2 spacer. With that set-up everything will fit like factory.

Thanks for the info guys. Will check them out this week-end when I go to the Knoxville Expo. Maybe pick up a few other things.
