Vette(s): 1977 L-48 with T-tops, orange. All numbers matching. However, has Edlebrock heads and intake, crane cam, full length headers and shift kit
I was reading with some great degree of interest the discussion concerning E-brakes. I was looking at mine on my 77 and was hoping I could just get them to work without pulling the spindle. You folks answered my questions; looks like if it’s going to have to come apart, might as well do it right the first time. My thought is maybe I should opt for purchasing a complete carrier assembly for each side. This way I get new bearings, seals, brake hardware, etc. Just bolt it whole new assembly in. Does anyone have a better suggestion?

Thanks, Bob

There are companies that offer rebuilt trailing arms that include new bushings, bearing, and e-brake systems. This is a good solution. I started by replacing the bushings in my trailing arms. Then I had to have the bearing replaced in one. Then I had to have the e-brakes repaired. Now, I am going to have the bearings replaced in the other one. All over a three year period. If I would have known, I would have purchased rebuilt trailing arms and turned in my old ones for cores. There are many good companies that offer this service.
