I've got a 77 L-82 with a 4-speed....my question is...How do I tell which transmission I have!!! Muncie, t-10 etc...There is a number on the trans and a build date and a few random letters...I'm clueless!!

Curtis,the standard M20 wide-ratio trans was mfg. by Borg Warner and had a steel case. The optional M21 close ratio was mfg. by Muncie and had a aluminum case. Get out your magnet. Chuck
