Antenna

HAs anyone ever replaced a power antenna? I have most of my interior removed but it seems that the antenna is monted just on the otherside of the wall I have access to. Do I have to drop the muffler to get to it or what?

I have replaced mine with a standard chrome antenna. I have an 81 and to get to it I did a little bit of contortionism, but I did not have to remove muffler. It helps to have someone on top to hold mount and antenna while you screw nut on bottom. On the 81 to get to the cable all I had to do is remove the driver side rear speaker and it had a connection point there along with removing the electrical wires to the power antenna.
