I have a 72 Vette with a 78 front clip and doors.  I am going to put a 72 front clip back on the car but was wondering if I can replace the internals of the doors to change back to early style or do I need to change the entire door.

Someone can chime in here, but I'm thinking the only difference in the 72 and 78 doors (other than possible coupe/convertible for 72) is the interior opening mechanism.  It's possible the 78 doors have the required mounting holes for the 72 interior door opening mechanism.

Purchase the 72 assembly instruction manual and compare the illustration to what you have on the '78 doors.

Interior door trim panel mounting will be a little different between the two.
