Hey Guys, was that thin ABS (black) front spoiler standard equipment for all C3's. The one that sells for about $40 now.

If you are talking about the lower front spoiler then yes they were standard and an important part of the cooling for your C3. There were a couple different designs over the years but each was designed to direct air up and through the radiator.

Yes, the spoiler (aka, air dam) is used to force more air up into the radiator area and as a by product, to keep the nose from lifting at higher speeds. There are three of them. One is for 68-72, the second is for 73-79, and finally the third for 80-82.

A C3, and several other cars can overheat without it. This is even true stitting still due to the way the air is routed to the radiator.

Keep in mind there is a 'valance' needed to attach it. This piece is fiberglass and spans across the front below the rad. It has 3 large openings in it. The spoiler attaches to it. I can email a pic of one off the car if you need it. It is for a '76.
