Hey Everyone, |wavey|
Became a member only about a week ago and enjoying all the posts and insight that everyone gives. I have a question about my '76 windshield. When I bought it the previous owner let the arm of the wiper lay on the glass and left a scratch 2in wide and 3in long at the base of the windshield. It is deep enough to feel and I would like some comments about getting this fixed. Is it pricey? Is it possible? Do I need a new windshield?
Comments would be helpful.

-John

P.S. Adam, is Eagleville down SE PA or Central PA? |saluteflag|

Hi John,
Personally I would just replace the windshield. If the groove is pretty deep, I doubt that it could be polished out. The price for a new windshield for my '81 was about $150 installed. And it gave me a chance to get a good look at the frame around the windshield. (no rust on mine) Good luck!

Had the same problem on my '73. A professional polished it out as good as he could. Still could see what then looked like etched glass. Finally replaced it. Cost $174 and was well worth it.
