Welcome Steve

Tell us a little about how you came to own your car.  What is the condition?  What are your plans for it?

Thank you all for your welcome! I came to own my C3 after years of putting the idea of ever actually owning one on the "back shelf" for 30 years. I worked on them while employed by GM for 8 years right out of school, but the downturn of the industry in the 80s pushed me in another direction. After raising three boys we were two days away from sending the youngest to college, and he was taken from us in 2010. As we were muddling through life after Drew, and trying to find the "new normal" we noticed Eleanor in a less than worthy state near our farm. After hearing the bottom line price, I heard him say "Dad... buy it!!! you have my tuition just siting there, and she is really fast!!!" Needless to say, I am now the PROUD owner of a 1978 25th Anniversary with 32,000 miles (with a lot of barn time through the years), and will never look back. I have always personalized my cars, and she is no exception. I am currently going through the top end, and restoring/replacing all of the rusted parts that are accessible. I hope to be driving her again in the coming weeks, and will post pictures when I can.

Welcome to the forum. I love those '78s. We're very sorry to hear of your loss. Please make yourself at home. We hope you'll move right in and stay. Great family here. Peace be with you.
