thanks gilbert, will i was not looking at vettes at first,i was looking at getting a big block nova or chevelle but they were not in my budget. so my wife suggested i look at corvettes. i found my at D&M Corvettes in downers grove,Ill.i got it from the second owner who had it for 32 years.it has been a little neglected so iam just fixing what needs fixed and drive it as much as i can.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
The guys on the Forum will be a lot of help when it comes to doing things. The first bit of advise I would suggest is you will need a OEM factory manual for 74 Corvette if you can find one. I did a quick look and came up with a blank. Found some mulit year and others which may be of help but for my 82 crossfire engine nothing but the actual year provided much useful information.
The general corvette manuals work for some general things on some corvettes but there were so many changes that none of them cover a model year really good except the OEM manual for that year. Also depending on what you are doing the OEM assemble manual is helpful. They are normally easy to come by.
