Vette(s): Black 1977 Corvette which I am in the process of doing a resto-mod. She is also my daily driver, so the resto is slow going. Interior is done!
Hey everyone! It's good to be here! After wanting a C3 for most of my life, I finally have one! :) I posted most of this same post in the "Intro" forum, but I had some questions and figured I'd post them in here:

A little bit about me....well, I'm in Hawaii, 29 (almost 30) years old, married with 2 kids. My older brother is actually the reason my desire for a 1977 was re-kindled....he bought his 1997 Vette last year. I had wanted one ever since I was a little boy, but that had faded away with time....until I saw his C5! The spark was once again ignited, and I was looking for one to call my own. Well, shortly after moving into our new house, my Mazda6 was stolen and prompted me to really start looking for a car. The two '77's I had my eyes on that were for sale locally had already been sold, so I was looking for one on ebay to have shipped out here. Then I was at work on black Friday, and decided to see if there were any new listings on craigslist. (the though crossed our minds to have "the vette" before my Christmas party (Dec 1st) so that we could drive it with the T's off and show up all dressed up in fashion in one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Anywho, long(er) story short, we got the car, and I have had a smile on my face ever since!

Anywho, the transmission was giving me some problems, so I had it replaced, also the starter and flywheel were making a horrid sound at startup. Those both got replaced as well. My power steering went out recently, so she is a pain to drive at the moment. Today, actually replaced the p/s pump and hoses, but for whatever reason, I still don't have power steering. Any input is welcome!

Here are a few pics because I know forum-goers always love pics.

I'm not really sure what engine it has...the VIN says L48, but "the guy" and comparing my engine with pics online says L82. Please shed some light on this mystery for me, as I would love to build up the engine as well!

Here's what the stamp pad on the block says:
14B424214
T0816C R

I asked on Corvetteforum.com, but no one has answered...all they said was that there's too many after market parts to be able to tell...

I have all of my Vette pics in my "Natalia" album for anyone that wants to go take a look.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Mahalo!

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome Nice car. I'm sure that someone will be able to help you on the Power Steering issue.  It is something I do not have a lot of experience with.   One suggestion I would make is just to start a new post with the title Power Steering problem and put it in that post.  I would bet that you will get more help with your problem.  I have found that there is someone in the forum that has experienced everything.

This is by far the most active vett forum that I have been on.

I agree with Gilbert.  You should probably post two different messages about your issues... the one about the engine type in the  C3 Engines  fourm and the one about the p/s in the  C3 Handling Components  forum.

Thanks for the pics and the intro!
