Thank you Mr.Wartell, My name is J.D.Maloy I have a 76 Vette red like yours .New paint job butt the inside is striped out . I'am having sterring wheel problems, my wheel comes out of the clumn.Missiong some parts need to know how to fix it. Got a Chilton book but need better digram of the steering parts them shelf. thanks, stingr76

Welcome to the site John. There are several forum catagories to choose from to get the attention of those who can help. Try posting this issue in one of those where it will be viewed by all. There is a telescoping feature on some of these columns, could that be what you're refering to or does the wheel actually slide all the way out? It can't be connected to the steering box if what you are experiencing is anything more than the telescoping wheel.
