Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome John
Cannot get much closer to New Orleans without living there. Good looking car I always liked the Oyster interiors.
Tell us something about your car. How did you come to own it? What is the condition and what are your plans for it?

Bought it in March of 1980 a week before I turned 25. It was Silver with blue interior. In 1992 the engine was rebuilt and I painted it red and changed the interior to oyster. Looked good. It sat from about 1995until 2010. In 2010 my daughter was getting ready to turn 16 ,so I had to get it running because she was going to need a car. I replaced or rebuilt whatever was needed, so basically the car has been restored. I basically have a new 1979. Most of the parts that I took off that were original, I have kept. I don't know why. The engine is stock, with a factory aluminum intake and factory headers that I got from a friend that was on a crate motor. People wonder about the headers since the don't look like regular headers. They bolt to the stock exhaust and have the fittings to attach to the anti pollution that was on the car back then. It's a dependable driver and I had it painted black about 2-3 years ago. Right now the car runs and looks better than it ever has. I know since I've owned it for over 33 years. I met my wife a few years after I bought the car, so it's been part of my family longer than her. My son who is 16 is looking to inherit the car. He said if someone offered me a million for it, he wouldn't let me sell it. He says it looks sexy and he enjoys the looks and compliments we get . There is a lot of history in that car , Ive had it for 99% of it's life.

Great Story
Glad to have you join us. Plan on taking a Motor home to New Orleans in late Oct maybe I will get a chance to see it.
New Orleans is one of my favorite cities to visit as long as it is not Mardi Gras. Do not like the crowds. Lots of history and great buildings.
