Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

First off thank you for the welcome to the site, it looks to be a very informative and fun forum. Well my wife has always loved the C3 body style, so I decided to get her one. I started looking and narrowed it down to 4 that I found online. After choosing the one we decided to buy I gave the guy a call and ask him about the corvette he assured me several times that this vette was a just get in and drive and for $13000 you would think so yourself, WELL we got to drive it about 6 blocks and have had nothing but MAJOR problems ever since. We have decided to do a complete body off restoration and make it a custom. All I can say is if I were somebody looking to buy a C3 I would not do it from "70's corvette" on eBay I promise you will regret it.

At least you're sticking with it! After you're finished, it will be all you want! The problem with these cars is they require maintainence along the the way which many people put off. Then someone dumps it and you get stuck with it! Hang in there! See if there are any C3VR events in your area and GO! (even without the car!) You will discover how great this group is!

The good news is there are a lot of knowledgeable guys on this forum. They have saved me a lot of trouble and I stopped doing the wrong thing once I started asking questions first.
The first thing you need to do it get a GM service manual for your year vett. None of the ohters cover everything you want or need to know.
Looks to me like there is a supplement for your year one is available on amazon.com for $30. So if it is something you do not like you can return it without a trouble. http://www.amazon.com/1975-Corvette-Shop-Service-Manual/dp/B000ECO582
Someone on Amazon left this note "It would've been great if someone had let us know that the 1974 was identical and we'd need that more than this. " so you may want to purchase the 1974 first or at the sametime. Amazon also has the 1974 book for $40.
I know they are available on DVD or CD but cannot find that link now.
