Thanks guys. I bought my first C3 and gave it to my dad and we fixed it up. It is a 71 Stingray with the 270hp and 4-speed manual tranny. Original color was warbonnet yellow and has black vinyl interior.

After buying that one and giving it away, I decided I wanted one of my own. It really surprised me at how the price if those chrome bumpers and even flat back window cars were getting to be. So I ended up picking out a 78 SA L82 4-speed.
I got Richard Prince's restoration guide and went out looking for numbers. I know it is not a factory L82, but the block is from a 1978 pickup truck. The transmission appears to be factory and a close ratio at that. I found my rear gear to be a 3.70 so that helps make that low powered 350 seem like it is better that it really is
The car was a repo and I believe that is why the motor is gone. The radio is missing and the speedo was removed. Replaced with an 85 mph speedometer... :( It just needs a good solid restoration. I'd like to find a build sheet when redoing the interior and drop the fuel tanks so I can find out for sure what radio it had in it and the usual stuff. Which is why I signed on. Below is a pic that I have of the 71 and 78.
