Tell us a little more about car.  How did you come to own it?  What condition is it in?  What are the first things you plan on doing do it?

The Corvette needs a new paint job, it's a 4-speed manual with a new custom 350 engine and transmission. I was told it's originally an AC car, but is missing its compressor and condensor -- the console and controls indicate AC, but I may need some experts to help identify whether it is or not. The passenger window indicates it is an Astro-Ventilation car, but none of the astro-vent parts appear to be present, and the rear vents are sealed. The seller also replaced the carpet with model-specific kit from ACC.

 

It was originally a red car, but it is sanded and prepped for paint. I think we're going to paint her blue (whatever the blue shade was for that year -- my wife and I want to keep it authentic).

 

Any other posters in the Greater Cleveland area who mind showing a novice around the C3? Upcoming projects include a vacuum system test (headlights are open), and finishing putting the interior back together, as well as troubleshooting a possible bad ground/turn signal switch in the column (it's tilt/tele).

 

Any advice from other resto experts? This is my first resto, and I'm a preschooler when it comes to mechanical knowledge, so keep that in mind! Also, any digital pictures of the complete vacuum system, properly installed, would really help in my quest to get the headlights down!

I agree completely with Jimmy "aceinthehole".  Do your best to put post into the correct category and that will get you the best response.  

If you choose wrong like Jimmy said one of the administrators will most likely corrected it for you. It was great advice to keep each post to a single subject or group that is about the same issue. 

I know little about the 75 and they are all different from my 82.  I will till you the vacuum systems are interesting.  

One of your first purchases you will want is the service manual.  When I say that I mean the GM service manual.  Most of the others are mostly worthless in my opinion.  

I did some research and it seems that for 1975 there was a supplement for the 1974 manual and the manuals seem to cover other cars than just the corvette.  I would need someone with more experience to tell me if this is correct or which to purchase.

I would recommend that you do a new post  in the C3 General Discussion area ask for recommendation on GM service manuals to purchase.  You will get some response and maybe even a link to where you can purchase the correct one or ones.  That is what happened to me back about 5 years ago.
