Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome

You did not give us a lot of info. So why not start now. What do you own or looking to purchase?

Hi all,
I didn't expect my signing up to generate responses, but while I have your attention I do have a question...
In addition to my '74 L82 4spd, I recently purchased a rebuilt 1978 L82 engine out of a pace car - at least that's what the stamping indicates. I was going to put this into a 1982 Corvette that needs an engine, but since discovering it was a pace car engine I thought I'd give contacting the owner of the original car a try.
The Illinois Sec of State site shows that it was titled in IL in 1999, and I can request the owner's information through them, but before doing that I wanted to ask if anyone knew of any other registries where the car may be listed. It's not currently listed in this site's registry.
Also, if I'm unable to contact the original car's owner, is there any value to the engine due to its origin?
Thanks for any opinions or info. It's much appreciated.
Nick
