Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

Where to start....
I have an 81. Two tone. No rust (I didn't know about birdcages and rust on corvettes before I bought -- but after buying I dared to pull things apart and look....phew! I got lucky!) Bought it in August of 2013. My first corvette. Was very original...too original. Lots of worn out stuff....but very little bubba...another bit of luck!
Two years later I'm well on my way to building the vette I've always wanted.
So far....
- New interior, seats, carpets, dash, steering wheel, stereo, door panels, paint, moldings and trim, instrument bezel, some of the guages.
- New engine Blueprint crate 355.
- When I did the engine I didn't salvage much of anything....New manifolds, headers, AC, PS pump, Alternator, starter, carb motor mounts, radiator, hoses, belts, distributor, wires, etc.
- Deleted all emissions stuff.
- Deleted computer.
- True duals.
- Rebuilt the transmission (had a shop do the rebuild) - shift kit and a modification deleting the original planetary gear and installing one from a 7004r. - The planetary gives me a deeper first gear while still retaining my original 2.87 rear. No difference in 2nd and 3rd gear.
- Rebuilt the steering components including the PS cylinder and PS control valve, tie rods, and center link.
- New trailing arms and hubs (both sides - VP&B)
- New shocks (billstiens) all the way around
- New ball joints
A bunch of other stuff but those are the biggies.
What is left...
- Install new FITECH EFI system (still waiting on it to arrive).
- Install spreader bar.
- Paint
- Start driving it more than work on it!
My big thing is paint. So far I have spared no expense and I don't want to booger up the pretty parts with my skill level. I'm pretty handy under the hood but I recognize I do not have the aptitude or equipment to paint. I tried it years ago on a Camaro and had mixed results. Best to farm this job out.
That's the story so far.
