Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
An other 1982 Collector's Edition. Is yours running? Mine is but it has a fast idle issue that I think I have found. Will know in the morning when I take it out for a short run.
I would be interested in a little info on your car.
Mine was purchased for me by my wife for Fathers Day this year from her lifelong girlfriend who had not driven it in three years. (cost me $800 in registration)
Can not complain to much because the purchase price was exceptionally low for a Corvette with 44,000 miles one it.
It was stored outside so a lot of the interior will need to be replaced. I have it running and replaced all the rubber on the suspension systems as well as the shocks.
My goal is to have it completely restored by next summer. I have the collector rims but not all of the lug nut covers. I think I will leave the after market rims on and just store the Collector Edition rims.

Thanks for inquiring about my '82 Collectors Edition. The story is an incredible one.
I had been looking for a CE for 6 months, trying to find the lowest mileage one I could find. Lo and behold, this past October I found one in Missouri (I live in NY) with 454 original miles on it. It is fully documented and in brand new factory original condition. The car one best in show 1 week after I got it at one of the largest judged Corvette shows here on Long Island, which blew me away.
Now the dilemma.....do I drive it?

Wow Joe, sounds like you found an incredible vette!
While the temptation is there to dive it, most of the value it has now is because of the low milage. It's a true survivor and you don't see those every day. It's a tough choice you have. I know I would want to drive and enjoy it. Since you have the Z06, it might be better to continue to enjoy that one. Put the '82 on a trailer and take it to shows and let it get the recognition it deserves as an original classic.
Good luck with the vettes, and welcome to the site!
