Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome Jay
Tell us a little on how you came to own your car and what condition it is in? It looks nice and by the location I would assume it is drive able. What are your plans for it?

This 1979 Corvette was found in a barn in Ontario County New York. It wasn't covered and they were using it for a catch all. Boxes and the like were sitting on it. The paint isn't as good as the pictures portray. There are deep gouges in the hood and paint worn off the edges or the fenders. It actually gives it some nostalgic class to some degree. I've ordered new carpet and seat upholstery because the inside of the car smells like barn even though it is surprisingly clean. We have already replaced all the brakes including the rotors and calipers and e-brakes. The engine is numbers matching but it smokes probably from sitting for 13 years. The last time it was registered was 2000. It was barned and forgotten till a couple weeks ago. I have ordered a new engine rather than rebuild the existing one. I want to keep it all original. If I ever sell it I will include the original engine. I paid almost nothing for the car. The guy that had it didn't act like he knew what he had. He called it an "Old Chevy". Now I'm struggling with keeping the paint original or having it repainted. It's kind of like those cars that you see in magazines and on speed channel that are found and repaired and just driven instead of restored. There is no rust under the car and the floors are good which says to me that it may have come from down south or out west at one time. So that is it. Thank you for the greetings. I know I will enjoy being a member of C3vette registry.
Jay Holden.

The picture doesn't look so bad. I always hear of these cool "barn find" stories but have never been fortunate enough to be part of one.
Good luck with it! Make sure to keep up posted on it's restoration progress. Take lots of Before and After photos!
