Thanks all -
I bought a project: 1972 4-speed, coupe. whole front clip is gone, but the frame is straight, motor is there as well as original tranny (so far as I can tell). everything afto of the firewall is cherry and the odo shows 36K mi. original seats, carpet, dash and guages are all there and in great shape.
I am here to read, learn and post my restore/build efforts as I coax this thing back to life.
As soon as I can figure out how to post pics here I will show what I bought. As I've done research, this vehicle strikes me to be a good deal, even though it's come with a salvage title.
Any suggestions, direction, advice is welcome.
thanks again -

Welcome Shawn. Sounds like a great project. Only two concerns with a Salvage Title; some states don't allow cross-state transfers for registrations purposes and the salvage status will definitely affect resale value in the future. Having said that, you have to be careful how much you invest in the rebuild. Good luck with the project.

Well, our 2 '78s are both salvaged titles for different reasons. One 'cause of an accident and the other due to an extended non-op
. Either way, it doesn't stop us from enjoying the heck out of 'em. I know they're only drivers, but that's all we want to do with 'em
. Not even thinking of resale value. OH, by the way, WELCOME to the forum Shawn. I'm just down the hill from you in Calaveras County and we have another member on I-80 near Sac. I hope we can hook up one day. aceinthehole 2010-02-25 08:29:51
