This is exactly the kind of site I was looking for. The day before yesterday I purchased a 1980 L48 t-top coupe with 84,700 original miles for $5000. I have already put over 100 miles on it. It runs and shifts well but needs a few things. The guys at the local garage looked at it and thought I got a great deal. One checked the door hinges and said they're usually in bad shape but mine are fine. The t-tops don't leak either. I'm 53 years old and this is my first Corvette. I've wanted one since I was in high school. I also have a very clean '62 Thunderbird, but there are no T-Bird clubs around here and there are exactly 19 Corvette clubs here in Kentucky, the home of the assembly plant, including 3 here in the Louisville area. The car is white with red interior, and some of the the things I need are a steering wheel, sun visors, windshield, inside mirror, and some trim pieces, like around the windshield. I ordered a new red carpet kit yesterday. If anyone out there knows where I can get any of these items please let me know. Thanks for the help and keep up the great job with the site....

One more question. Is my 80 supposed to have an arm rest between the seats above the parking brake? I looked at 7 or 8 80s on Ebay and 2 had it and the rest didn't. I know a guy that will sell me a real nice one for $40 so I would like to use it. How does it attach to the car? Please fill me in if you help me out. Thanks......

Dave80, Welcome to C3VR. Sounds like you got a great deal on your '80. Enjoy your new ride! Regarding the arm rest issue. You will need to buy one since the '80-82's don't have them. I got my leather one at Mid America and paid about $40. You can pick the color based on your interior color. They do not attach but rather sit on the parking break housing. The way they are shaped they partially sit in back of the seats and will not move. It makes the ride much more comfortable. Kinger82

Do you have the web address for Mid America? So the arm rest doesn't slide around at all? I guess I'll get one then. Thanks.....

That Mid America site is great. Besides selling lots of Corvette items they have some great pictures and stories about old movies that had Corvettes in them, among other things. Thanks a lot, Klinger. By the way, I just became a member of C3VR a few minutes ago. This is an outstanding site. This guy Adam is a real class act.....
