Tell us a little more about yourself and your car.

Here's a little background information. I'm a Carpentry teacher in CT's Technical High School system. Owned a 66 BB Roadster back in the late 70's and sold it to do the whole family thing ( wouldn't trade any of it for anything) with 3 great kids and my lovely wife of 36 years.

 

Decided to get another Corvette and like both the C2 and C3 best. C2's proved to be a little more $$$ than I wanted to "invest" at this time as I wanted a driver and not a project car. Picked up a 73 coupe with a 350/ 4 speed, Porshe Guard Red paint/ black leather interior. Running and driving. Car had a frame off resto in the early to mid 90's and shows well for it's age. Came with paperwork from 85 up on a lot of the repairs and restoration done. It's not "numbers matching" but that's fine by me because I want to drive it.

 

Remembering my experience with the brakes on my 66 I decided to completely go through braking system on this car. I want the confidence to know that all the calipers, MC, hard lines, distibution switch and flex lines are new/rebuilt and will perform like they were originally designed to do. I went with a O-ring seal kit for the calipers couple of new hard lines and braided flex lines.

 

As I can't drive the car until spring (winter in CT is not for Corvettes) it will hold me over cleaning up some odds and ends along with the brakes. I always shop for sports cars and boats in the late fall to get the best prices.

 

I will get some pictures up shortly, but only have a few on the day I bought it and now it is up on blocks getting the brakes squared away.

 

Doing some research on the car I found it was originally a 454, but someone converted to the small block which I'm satisfied with for now. Who knows what the future will bring?
