Thanks. First vette experience started today. Anyone know where I could get a breakdown of interior colors/options. Just bought a 1982 in bright blue (031). 60k original number matching miles. Automatic. Thanks ahead of time, I know how valuable these forums can be.

Cool feature!! VIN breakdown is:

Restraint System (A): Active (manual) belts
VIN Check Value: 7
Division (1): Chevrolet
Car Line (Y): Corvette
Body Style (87): Two-Door Coupe
Engine Type (8): L98-350ci,200hp
Model Year (C): 1982
Plant (5): Bowling Green, KY
Sequence Number: 111250
Your VIN Check Value (7) indicates
a Valid VIN!
I'll get some pics on soon. Its actually a barn find. Needs a little work. Kinda of a sad story. But the short version is that some grass caught fire and lit the rear fiberglass. Didn't last long, but got rear and right rear quarter panel. 9 years ago. Been sitting ever since. 2 owner car. Front clip, doors, everything under hood, rims, all badging from doors forward are mint. No pitting or anything. All data plates there. Mirrored T-tops. Looks like almost every option possible. Interior was smoke damaged and pretty well gone. Gauge cluster is fine other that needs new clear lenses. Going to be a good project. Not enough heat go to any of the metal to make it rust either. I think a shell and interior and put it back stock. The condition of most of the car and the low number of the color, I knew it was well worth the price. My 3 brothers run a garage full time, and we all grew up around cars. I'm near Winchester, VA. Thanks for any suggestions/comments you can throw my way!

This may show up twice
The first thing you are going to want to do is purchase the GM shop/service manual for your 82 corvette. You may also want to pickup the assembly manual. Some people do some do not but I find it useful in finding stuff. Wish it came in a pdf version so I could search to find assemble instructions on different parts.

Hey Aaron. Welcome to the forum. A lot of good folks here. You can find lots of topics for the 82 here. I agree with Gilbert. Get the manuals and life will be a lot better.
