Vette(s): 68 stock car

Hello.

Wondering about buying a Original 68 Corvette stock car.

1 of 80 made?

Any ideas of how much i should pay for this car?

In overall good shape, repainted some years ago. All original except changed to electronic distributor. Still have the points type.

Know of any info about these?

Very cool vette. Very "wide"

By original 68 Corvette stock car, do you mean that it was made specifically for racing and that a total of 80 were made in 1968?
Are you sure of its history?
Do you really think it is still original engine and drive train?
How did it get to Norway?

Vette(s): 68 stock car

Have been told it was made for racing and has almost no accessories at all. Manual steering. 4spd. manual. Removable rear window.

Have a wider body than other -68 vettes. And Big wheels.

Was asking owner for VIN but the car was garaged away from his home. But he was going there in a few weeks.

Have been told it is all original except the distributor and the repainting. No mufflers on when it came to Norway. Had to put on that to get it legal.

The car had one owner in the states, someone called Lopez he recalled. Was imported to norway a few years ago.

He was asking 200.000 N kroner Ca 28000$ earier. Hoping to get it for 150.000 Ca 21.000$ Do you know of this car has any collector value? Or is it cheaper than a loaded version? As it has almost no accessories?

Sounds like maybe an old Greenwood car, or similar. Any older car with a verifiable race history is definitely worth some bucks. How much would depend on condition an provenance. I think the L-88 cars had flares on the fenders (export maybe?), and there were 80 L-88s in '68. You might have found a real one ($$$$$$), or not More info is needed to figure it out. Don't know the exchange to U.S. dollars, but a real L-88 would bring probably $100,000 U.S.

L-88 isn`t that the 427 Big Block?

Think this car have a 327 sbc.

Told me he had all documentation for the cars originallity.

Will the VIN tell anything?

Yes, the L-88 was the 'Big Daddy' in '67-69' Vettes. (427ci pumping around 560hp.) The vin won't be any help determining what motor is had originaly, as GM didn't code the motor to the vin until '72. When you get the paperwork, you'll have more to go by. Good luck, it sounds like a really cool car.
