I think you're making a wise choice about protecting your car. I'll tell you how I installed my fuel cutoff. This is if you have a mechanical fuel pump. I purchased a dual tank switch from a local chevy dealer (they used these on pickups that had 2 gas tanks, I had a 78) I installed it on the passenger foot  side right above the frame. I hid the toggle switch...so the car will start & go a few hundred feet & die. I've got a big fram fuel filter so even when you flip the switch back it takes about 20 seconds of cranking to get fuel to the carb. I can hear the vet from 1/4 mile away, so this would put the unlucky bastard how stole my car in a very bad place...with my 357 in his ear....he would probably have to visit the dentist also as my hand would probably be shaking.

I think the Lojack system is a sound investment. A Pro probably won't even bother trying to start the car, they will just hook it and go.

Yea, A fuel cut-off and Lojack will be the ticket. The extra plus to the
Lojack is the cut in insurance most carriers give when one is installed.
They have a 90% recovery rate (I asked what about the other 10%, my
neighbor said "fire most likely burned the bastard to the ground") either
that or it was loaded on a ship and set for sea (it happens a lot with newer
high ticket cars here in LA I'm told). Big Fish is right, it'll probrobaly never
get cranked up when it vanishes. But like Knotacare, the SOB better not
take if from the house... toothache be damned, It'll be the heart burn
that'll nag him the most..
