Well I am new to this Forum stuff but this is a great way to find people & info about Corvettes. Let me tell you about my fantastic trade deal I made to become a Corvette owner. I did own a 1994 Chevy Short Wide Truck 4.3 V6 (141,500 miles), 5 Speed, PS, PB, A/C, Tinted Glass, Drop Spindles up front, Centerline Wheels, Chrome Cold Air Intake, Magnaflow Performance Muffler, Kenwood AM/FM/CD w/4 speakers & subwoofer. Overall very nice daily driver truck. I have been stalking Craigslist for a couple of months looking to trade for a nice ride. My wife and I both love Corvettes. She told me I could trade my truck for a Corvette as long as it had an automatic trans, so the search was on. I found a seller in Longview, WA with a Black 1976 Corvette Stingray L-48 T-Top with Auto Trans asking $7500. I e-mailed him asking if he is considering trades? Well we met and traded straight across (for my truck). On Nov. 5th 2007 My wife and I became Corvette owners. OK the scoop on the Corvette: The seller has owned it since 1978. It is in very good condition exterior & interior and is a great driver. It was repainted Black about 14 years ago and still looks pretty good (originally Orange Flame). At the time it was repainted he rebuilt the 350 bored 30 over and headers ( he was a helicopter mechanic in the service) also had the carpet through out replaced. The trans was replaced with a rebuilt one about 5K ago. It has A/C all intacted but needs duct tubes and it might work. Power windows work good. The speedometer ODO is stuck on 84,000+ miles but the speedo works fine. It may have about 110,000 miles overall on it. Like most old Corvettes It needs lots of little stuff, door panel hardware to fit better, driver's door hinge spring, some screws for the dash, the headers need to be welded to the pipes and a heat shield for the starter, a new seal were the speedo cable goes into the tranny, speedometer ODO fixed, and one other thing, smile remover for my face! How do I post some pictures, I need to take some good ones. Thanks All, Aaron / Vancouver, WA

Wow! The replies from you all are great. I'll try to figure out the picture thing soon (thanks for the info). When it stops raining here I'll take new pictures. I work swing shifts so I could be doing this picture posting thing in the middle of the night. Also I'll be asking lots of questions when the shock of owning a Corvette wears off a little. Thanks!

Congrats on the buy -- sharks are great -- I still stand in the garage and stare -- dreaming of the roar from the engine and the wind. Great times and this group has more info than you can ever hope to uncover.
