Vette(s): 1985 Hard top 1986 Convertible

I've always liked corvettes,

I bought my two cars at the same time in Dubai, these were for sale at a car dealer in Dubai when I worked in the UAE in 2003.

I really only wanted one car but I was torn as to which one to buy, so I bought both of these.

Both cars had been imported from Japan and both were Left hand drive, I brought these back to Adelaide once we returned home after a 3 year stint in Dubai.

The 86 convertible I converted to RHD shortly after returning to Oz, the 85 I kept in a shed as a LHD waiting for the car to turn 30 in 2015. At that stage it can be left as a LHD vehicle and it can be registered as a vintage car on club rego and driven for 90 days max every calendar year.

Currently the 85 is stripped waiting to get a full respray to change colour, the motor has been fully rebuilt with no mods, still in std trim. The interior has been updated with new door trims and carpets.

Once the 85 is completely reassembled later this year 2021, I will be starting on the 86 convertible

Wish me luck

Mauro

The 86 Vette is on blocks at the moment waiting to finsih the 85.

The 85 is stripped ready for a new paint job, hopefully completed by mid 2021
