Vette(s): 1975 Corvette Stingray

Early in their marriage, Dad asked mom what sports car she liked and she said the Corvette. This began our family’s love of the Corvette.

For as long as I can remember Dad always had a Corvette, upgrading to newer models throughout the years. He was always doing something to them and I was right there with him as the proverbial flashlight holder. Dad passed 13 years ago and mom sold his Vette. It broke my heart and I vowed to find the perfect model which would portray one of my favorite memories with him and honor his memory. It took several years of searching, but I finally found the perfect Vette, the same model and color of his last Stingray. My son and I drove from Virginia to Ohio and brought her home. The widow I purchased from said her desire was that the Vette would go to someone that would love it as much as her husband did. I assured her that would definitely be the case.

“Sassie” needed some mechanical work done to get her in safe and tiptop driving condition, of which was performed right away. During this work, it was discovered that the bra was hiding a disintegrating front bumper. It took roughly a year for the body shop to fit her in, but she was finally restored to her full beauty.

My desire is that Sassie will remain in our family for generations to come. 💜

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.

Hey Girl, congrats to you on the find. I too bought one with the proverbial Bra holding the front end together. Also found the damage AFTER I got it home and uncovered. It's better now, I did my own work and made it a driver. Good luck. Take care of yourself and the new ride.

What a great story! Thanks for sharing.

Do you have any pics since she got out of the body shop?

Vette(s): 1972 LT-1 convertible with factory air. 2017 Black Rose Grand Sport M7 convertible.

Is that bottom pic the finished product or is that a pre body shop pic?  That bra is hideous.

MUCH better!  Nice color. Did you switch the wheels or the previous owner?

Thanks! I’m the third owner. One of the previous owners switched the wheels.
