Vette(s): '92 Coupe 350/Auto

Stopped by the Corvette Musuem in Bowling Green Monday - Very cool place.  The factory tours have been suspended untill 2013 as they are resetting the assembly line for the new model.  But I did see a full truck load of new Corvettes headed to market.

I picked up my build sheet and have the window sticker on the way - my C4 began it's trip down the line on Thursday Feb 20th, 1992 at 10:30.  Overall it's the 991,610th Corvette built - Number 1,000,000 (on site) was 5119133.

Learned a lot, I've been a deeply involved motorcycle guy for the last 30+ years, but like many 50 somethings I had a Chevy thing as a youth.  So I'm catching up (big-time) on my Corvette knowledge...I used to be pretty versed in mid-60's to mid-70's muscle cars.  GM #1 of course!

Sure glad that Zora wrote the letter "Thoughts pertaining to youth, Hot-rodders, and Chevrolet" in December of '53 and got Chevy straighten out  Thumbs Up

I would have never guessed "Corvette" came from a WWII anti-submarine ship. French meaning "Fast Sloop"

If you want a build sheet and window sticker contact Betty Hardison 270-467-8841 or betty@corvettemuseum.com

They have a lot of great cars to look at and lots of very interesting history, racing and engineering displays available to digest.

Did you drive your vette to the museum? I got a kick outta parking in the "vettes only" slots! Of course I had my '84 and had a guy tell me he didn't like "those" vettes. oh well, we like it and that is what REALLY matters.LOL
Glad you had a good time.

The "date" on the build sheet is the date it was scheduled to be built.  Not the actual day it was built. The actual day of production can be weeks after the schedule-date on the build sheet.
Glad you had a good time.

Hello Bob,
Nope, I was returning from an Atlanta dog show vacation with my wife - my role - driver of the van...

No accounting for some peoples tastes - in my mind the 1984 is the model that saved the modern Corvette Approve

Hello Dave,

That's what I thought from my own research....However when I picked up the build sheet, Betty the (very knowledgeable) museum records person said the 92/51 & 10:30am in box "6" indicated that car's production was started on the 51st day of 1992.
