Just wanted to post up some pic sof whats been keeping me busy over the last 18 months. Good thing to keep in mind is that during this time my vette has been very good and not giving me any reason to work on it. I have been driving it at least 2-3 times a month but I think its heading to storage shortly! Anyway here are some pics of my 66 Dart that has been keeping me busy.

Hope this didnt bore you to much.

This was it when I bought it 2 years ago.

Spent lots of time on the rotissiere once everything was removed. Made it much easier to clean and add the frame connectors, cut and move the spring boxes and do the mini tub work.

Did my first real painting and wet sanding and buffing! Im not a fan of this type of work! And below you will see I installed the 408 stroker.

Some dash reworking and painting. Now the fun starts as I begin the interior reassembly. No back seat since its basically my weekend toy and will be racing a few weekends a year. (I hope)
Below you will see my original thought on a paint scheme although now Im starting to think maybe just finish in all white?

Hope this didnt bore you to much.

Very cool, I wish I had your shop to work in !! Spotted the V8 badge on the first pic, but also spotted the Hurst emblem on the dash. Was this originally a Hurst car of some sort ??

No hurst car. I found that emblem at summit and thought it would look good there. And since my shifter is a hurst promatic decided to display it. It really fit nicely there and matched the color scheme.
Thanks for looking.

See here's the deal......Rod has a simple 2 stall garage that the wife gets to go in now and then.
ebo
What she does not know is that there is a false rear door that looks like a plain open studded wall...........and behind that secret passage is another huge shop where he hides his projects from her.
Not shown in the pictures are a couple of Vettes and a couple of Firebirds........and I'm not going to tell her.
At least he is not falling asleep at the key board too much. Example of Rod during chat nights, "you guys are nutssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Quite the project...!!! I like the paint scheme idea. I'd actually take it a little farther - angle the red/maroon a little steeper to the front corner of the rear pillar and take it up over the trunk, roof and a-pillar. Then run the black up to the fender edge where you have the red/maroon ending in the picture. Hood, front fenders and top of doors in silver - with a very slight touch of metallic over the whole car. Kinda like this -

White - nope! With a red/maroon interior if you're going to go with a solid exterior color it has to be silver - with a very slight touch of metallic.

Sarge, Actually I hate graveyard cars. That show just has to much drama in his work force made for TV! lol. Besides that he wants everything to go back to original. Who would want that! Mod is where it's at! lol
What I watch to much of is Street outlaws, Overhauling and Bitchin Rides! I wish I had the talent those guys have.
Now Ebo, thats not entirely true. When you go out the secret door I have to jump into a car a drive 3 miles before I get to the secret storage facility. And you not telling has to continue! I just bought a 4 post lift to store 2 cars in one spot because space is getting tight again.
Actually when I do go out to the shed to work and I get back in she always asks the same question, Are you done yet! I tell her she will have her shed back in the spring but never mention which year thats going to be.
Gary, shes not blonde, wish she was! lol
As for me falling asleep thats changed some. Now when I get home from work each night I take a short hour or more nap so I can stay up later at night!
Norsky, thats a great paint scheme. Id like to see that with a white front end yet. What program do you use that you can do that. I dont have anything I can do that so I had to buy Ace spray cans to get to what you saw. That means more sanding which I am finding out I dont like to do. But I truely like what you did and would like to see it with a white front!

I used Microsoft Paint - should be in the Accessories menu of any Windows based computer. I'm sure there are mega-buck apps out there that will do a much better job. I just free-handed it so the lines and such are very rough (be nice ebo!).
White, especially an old GM color named Artic White, would really pop the contrast. A friend had a brand new 1970 GTO in Artic White and it would blind you when the sun hit it.
