Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79

Chevrolet is leaning hard into America's 250th anniversary this year, and they’re doing it in a way that blends nostalgia, real Americana, and some legitimately impressive stunt work. The big headline: Chevy has revived the classic "See the USA in Your Chevrolet" campaign with a brand‑new version of the song and a new commercial that actually returns to the top of Castle Rock in Utah.
Yes, they really flew a truck up there again!
The new spot features rising country artist Brooke Lee singing from the tailgate of a 2026 Silverado ZR2 that was airlifted onto the 1,400‑ft rock formation. Chevy did this twice before (1964 and 1973 with Impalas), and they decided to recreate the stunt for real instead of faking it with CGI. According to Chevy, everything in the commercial is authentic: real families, real couples, real friends, and even a real dog that belongs to the family in the shot.
Lee recorded a modern country version of the classic Dinah Shore tune, and the ad follows a lineup of Chevy vehicles road‑tripping across the country: Mt. Shasta, the Redwoods, St. Louis, Nashville, the Florida Keys, and New York. Corvette makes an appearance too, with a married couple cruising in one of the scenes.
This campaign ties into Chevy's broader push for the Stars & Steel Collection, which rolls out this spring across five 2026 models - including the Corvette. For every Stars & Steel vehicle sold, Chevy will donate $250 to nonprofits supporting veterans.
Chevy says they’ll be revisiting more iconic moments throughout the year as part of the semi‑quincentennial celebration, so we’ll likely see more heritage‑inspired content as 2026 unfolds.
If you haven’t seen the new spot yet it’s worth a look, especially knowing they went old‑school and did the stunt for real. It’s a nice blend of history, patriotism, and some genuine Chevy ambition.
